Your delivery and pick-up receipt
We are happy to explain everything about your delivery step by step, so that you know exactly when your order will be delivered and how you can pick it up.

We have made arrangements together with your school or educational institution for the delivery of your order. This can be done in three different ways. We are happy to explain them to you below.

Delivery at school
We will be present at your school and hand over your order to you personally. Three weeks and three days before the delivery at your school, you will receive an email from us containing a pick-up receipt, the pick-up date and time.

When you are unable to pick up your order yourself, someone else may do this for you. You just need to make sure this person has the email with the pick-up receipt. If you really can't be present, we have another solution for you.

Delivery to school
We will deliver your order to your school and they will hand it over to you. You will receive an email from them with the pick-up date and time.

Delivery to home address
We will deliver your order directly to your home address. You will receive an email from us containing track & trace information so you can follow your package. If you are not at home, your package will go to a PostNL location. Pick up your package within one week, otherwise it will come back to us.

NOTE: under no circumstances it is possible to adjust the delivery method!

No, unfortunately this is not possible. We have made delivery agreements with all schools and we cannot deviate from this.

Cancelling your order is possible within 14 days after receiving the order. After these 14 days, it is no longer possible to cancel your order.

To cancel your order, we need some details from you:

• Order number
• Student name
• Postal code + house number

Good to know

• If you have not yet received your order, we will arrange the cancellation for you. You will receive a confirmation of the cancellation by email.
• If you have already received your order, we will provide you with return instructions. You will receive these by email. After receiving your package, we will check your device for damage, signs of use and that it has not been used intensively.

Good to know
You can cancel the subscription yourself easily and quickly using your Easy4u-portal. Click on ''Cancel Subscription'' and follow the steps. This is only possible if you rent the laptop and can provide a proof of deregistration from school.

NOTE: did your subscription start before 1 May 2024? Then proof of graduation is sufficient. For subscriptions started after this date, graduation is not a valid reason for cancellation.

If you want to buy out the rental contract, we kindly ask you to follow the steps below.

• Go to your Easy4u-portal.
• Log in and click on ''Buy out subscription''.
• You can now pay off your device online. You will receive all information by email.

Please note that you cannot buy out your contract if you have an outstanding invoice. Once it has been paid, you can buy out the contract.

As soon as the Easy4u all-in-1 subscription expires, you will no longer have any service on your laptop. Which means:
- You can no longer have your laptop repaired by The Rent Company
- There is no more replacement laptop available
- Your laptop is no longer insured in case of damage or theft

If you have bought the laptop, it will remain yours. You can keep using the laptop, but without the Easy4u all-in-1 subscription.

When you have rented the laptop, you can keep or return it. That is how it works:
- If you want to keep the laptop, you don't have to do anything. We keep the deposit and the laptop becomes your property. Just like buying it, you can keep using the laptop, but without the Easy4u all-in-1 subscription.
- If you want to return the laptop, you can arrange that in your Easy4u account, by going to ''Cancel subscription''.

Do you want a new laptop from The Rent Company? We are happy to make you a new offer. Please contact our Customer Service. So you can continue to enjoy the security of Easy4u!

When changing schools, you need to let us know. We kindly ask you to send us a WhatsApp and include the following information:

Loan laptop: when you hand in your laptop at the service desk at school, you will immediately receive a loaner laptop.

Always back up your data, as it may be deleted. We are not responsible for data loss.

We will keep you informed about your repair through email. You can also check the status of your repair in your Easy4u-portal.

Do you still have questions about the status of your repair? Contact our Customer Service, who can give you all the information on your ongoing repair.

With an Easy4u all-in-one subscription, you are guaranteed a fast and good repair. In many cases, this is at no charge, for example when there is a factory error or when the device no longer works properly through normal use.

If the device is broken due to your own fault, such as falling off a table, the own risk of €50 will be charged. No VAT is charged on this own risk. If we see that the device has been broken on purpose, the full repair costs will be charged. Thankfully, this does not happen very often.

One thing is for sure: when your device is broken, you want it back as soon as possible! We try to complete every repair within 10 working days of receipt. However, this is not always possible. This may be due to busyness or because the parts needed to repair are hard to get.

When your repair is finished, you will immediately receive a message from us. In the meantime, you can check the status here.

Dell
For Dell devices, the repair period is currently 20 working days. This is because the parts needed to repair are very hard to get. We understand this is annoying, but hope for your understanding! Once the parts have arrived, we will do everything we can to repair your laptop as quickly as possible.

Easy4u all-in-1 subscription
With the Easy4u all-in-1 subscription, you get a replacement laptop when your laptop is being repaired. You don't have to miss a minute of class!

Your charger is an important part of your device. After all, you can't use it without one. That's why we want to help you as soon as possible in case of problems.

Is your charger broken due to damage, such as water damage, because your dog bit the cable or because of a cable fracture? Then it is not covered by warranty and we recommend you order a new charger. You can do this in your Easy4u-portal.

Is your charger not broken due to damage? Then please contact our Customer Service. We can then help you further so you can get back to work as soon as possible! If you send us a charger and it turns out to be broken, we will not return it for safety reasons.

Has your device been stolen or lost? That's really frustrating.

The Easy4u subscription includes theft insurance as standard. This is applicable if:

• Your laptop has been stolen and there are traces of break-in or violence, and
• You have reported the incident to the police. It is important that you have already received the official report, as we will need it.

What does the insurance cover:

• We will arrange a comparable model laptop if the theft is covered. This will never be an older model than the stolen laptop.
• You will receive a charger and laptop sleeve with it.
• You will receive an invoice for the own risk of €50.

How it works
It is necessary to first report the theft to the police. Without a police report, we cannot help you further. Next, you can report the theft or loss through your Easy4u-portal.

The theft is not covered or the laptop is lost
In these cases, we will not reimburse the laptop. However, you can order a new laptop from us. We can transfer the Easy4u subscription from your previous laptop to your new laptop. In this way, you will not pay double service costs.

Would you like to make use of this? First order a new laptop and then contact us. We will be happy to take care of it for you.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to receive a loaner laptop until the new laptop has been delivered. We will make sure that your new laptop is sent to you as soon as possible!

After every repair, you get a 6-month warranty on the part we have replaced and the work we have carried out. On a battery that has been replaced, you get a 12-month warranty.

Was the first invoice debited twice? If your subscription started after the 10th of the month, we will collect twice during the first debit. This is because you always pay one month in advance. After that, we will debit once every 24th of the month.

No, you will not get BKR registration. We think it is extremely important that everyone can participate in digital education! That is why we have ensured that there is no need for a test or registration with the BKR.

To change the bank account number for direct debit, we need some information from you. You can send this to us via email. If the new account number is not on your name, we kindly ask you to include the new account holder in the cc of your email.

iDEAL / Wero
Paying with iDEAL / Wero is fast and secure through your own bank. You pay immediately and the payment is processed instantly. This payment method is available when you buy or rent from us.

Manual bank transfer
You can also pay by manual bank transfer. After placing your order, you will receive the payment details from us. Once we receive the payment, we will process your order within 3 - 5 business days.

In3
With In3, you pay in three equal installments within 60 days, without interest. You make the first payment immediately when placing your order. The second and third payments follow within 60 days. This payment method is only available if you buy from us (instead of renting).

In3 is not a “pay later” service like Klarna. It is not considered as a loan and does not require a BKR registration. However, they do perform a credit check.

Credit card
You can pay with a credit card. The payment will be processed instantly and secure. This payment method is only available if you buy from us (instead of renting).

Soon the name of iDEAL will change and continue under a new name: Wero. This is the new European payment system, supported by almost all banks.

This is what it means for you
For you, nothing actually changes. You still pay in the same way you are used to. The payment steps remain the same and paying remains safe and secure. Only the name and logo will change.

As of February 1, you will see a combined iDEAL/Wero logo. From the end of 2026, this will be the Wero logo exclusively.



Everything remains the same
During the payment process you still choose iDEAL/Wero. You pay using your own bank, in the same way you are used to now. The payment remains just as fast, safe and reliable as before.

Beware of fake messages
For the transition to Wero, you don't have to do anything. We will never ask you to change your payment details because of this change. Do you receive an email or message asking you to do so? Do not respond. This could be phishing. Do you doubt whether a message is reliable? Please contact us.

Do you notice your device's battery draining quickly? This could have several causes. Thankfully, there are some simple tweaks that can help extend your battery life.

• Turn on energy-saving mode: this will save power and extend the usage time.
• Lower screen brightness: a brightly lightened screen uses a lot of energy, adjust this to a lower level.
• Close unused programs: open programs in the background use unnecessary power.
• Turn off wifi and bluetooth when not in use: unnecessary connections cost energy.
• Do not charge other devices through a USB port: this draws power and drains the battery faster.
• Adjust screen settings in bright conditions: are you sitting in the sun and your screen is very bright automatically? Turn this down manually.

Report of repair

It may happen that your keyboard uses a different layout than you are used to. For example: you type an @ but you see ''. You can easily fix this yourself by changing the keyboard layout. Just follow the steps below.

• Click Start (the Windows logo) in the lower left corner.
• Click Settings (the gear icon).
• Click Time and Language.
• Click Language and Region.
• Under Preferred Languages, click the three dots near the language you use (for example, Dutch (Netherlands)). Then click Language Options.
• Under Keyboards, check which keyboard layout is set.
  
  • For example, does it say English (US)? Then this is not correct.
  • Then click Add a keyboard and choose Dutch - QWERTY or United States (international) - QWERTY.
  • Next, delete the incorrect layout by clicking on the three dots and then Delete.
• Test your keyboard by retyping special characters, such as @.

Pro tip
Sometimes you can accidentally switch between layouts by using a key combination, such as Ctrl + Shift or Alt + Shift. Pay attention to this if the problem suddenly occurs again.

If your keyboard or touchpad is not working, there could be several causes. Try the following steps to solve the problem:

• Check if they are enabled: many devices have a hotkey to disable the keyboard or touchpad. Check if this has been done accidentally and turn it back on.
• Reboot your device: a simple reboot can help fix (temporary) failures.
• Update your drivers: outdated drivers can cause problems. Use the button below to find instructions on how to update your drivers.

Report of repair

The Lenovo 300w and 500w have a special holder (garage) for a stylus pen. A dummy (a piece of plastic) is placed in this holder by default. Here's how to store the stylus pen:

• Grab a pair of tweezers or a small flathead screwdriver.
• Carefully pull the plastic dummy out of the holder.
• Slide the stylus pen into the holder.

Please note: the stylus pen is only included with the Lenovo 500w G4. You can order it separately from us. Don't have a stylus pen (yet)? Leave the plastic dummy in place to keep out dirt and dust.

Below, we have answered the most frequently asked questions regarding G DATA for you.

My login details don't work
You have received two emails from us separately sharing the username and password. In both emails you will find instructions on how to install G DATA. We notice that it frequently goes wrong at step 7 because here you are asked which way you want to activate the licence. You should choose ''Enter login credentials'' here, after which you can enter the username and password.

Activeren licentie
After downloading the G DATA software, log in with your username and password. Once you have logged in, click on ''Activate licence'' at the bottom left and enter the licence code. After this, your G DATA licence is activated.

Run virus scan
In the G DATA software, click on ''Virus protection'' () and select the option ''Check computer (all local hard drives)''. A virus scan will then be executed.

Switching functions on and off
When a function says ''not active'', you can enable it by clicking on it. Switching it off is done in exactly the same way.

Switching on child protection
In the G DATA software, click on ''Child protection'' (). Then click on the option ''Child protection for this user'' and select ''Enable''. After this, you can define the allowed content.

Configure security level
In the G DATA software, click on ''Firewall'' (). Next, click on the option ''Security'' and then on ''Edit security settings''. After this, you can configure the security level.

More information

On the Dell Latitude 3140, the touchscreen function may not work properly. Sometimes the screen may become less responsive or not work at all when touched.

Our partner Dell has discovered that this may be due to an outdated version of the touchscreen software. Therefore, they recommend updating it to the latest version.

Run update
To solve this problem, update the Goodix touchscreen's firmware to the latest version. After running this update, the touchscreen should work normally again.

• Make sure the laptop is at least 80% charged and that it is (and remains) connected during the update.
• Click the button below to go to the instructions.
• Download the file, unzip it and go through the steps during installation.
• Please note: during installation, the laptop may reboot a few times and rebooting may take longer than you are used to.

Always run this update
Even if you are currently not experiencing any problems, we recommend running the update as soon as possible. In this way, you will minimize the chances of the touchscreen having failures in the future.

Find My iPhone is a feature that allows you to find all your Apple devices if you lost them. As long as your device still has an internet connection, you can see where it is using a computer. When you hand in your Apple device for repair, Find My iPhone must be disabled, otherwise we cannot repair it completely. Below you can find the instructions on how to disable Find My iPhone.

Disable via device itself
If your repair is not yet with us

• Go to ''Settings''.
• Click on ''iCloud''.
• Click on ''Find my iPhone''.
• Turn off the slider next to ''Find my iPhone''.
• Enter your Apple ID password and click ''Turn off''.
• Find my iPhone is now disabled.

Disable via other device
If your repair is already with us

• Go to iCloud.com and log in with your Apple ID.
• Click on ''Find iPhone''.
• Click ''All devices'' at the top and select the device from which you want to disable Find My iPhone.
• Click on ''Stop erase request''.
• Click on ''Erase from account''.
• Your device has now been erased from Find My iPhone.
• Please let us know if it worked out? We can then proceed with your repair.

You can easily find the end date of your subscription under ''Subscription'' in your Easy4u-portal. Here you will find, among other things, when the contract started, the duration of the contract and the end date.

When your Easy4u subscription expires, you can renew it with us at any time. You can do so by logging into your Easy4u-portal.

Are you repeating a school year, starting an extra school year, or would you like to keep using your current laptop for longer? In many cases, you can extend your Easy4u all-in-one subscription. If your device is still working well, you do not need to order a new one and can continue using your current laptop.

• The service is extended for a maximum of one year.
• You only pay for the Easy4u all-in-one subscription.
• You can choose to pay monthly or in one single payment.

A service extension is only possible once. In your Easy4u-portal, you can see whether a service extension is available for your device. A service extension is only possible if we can continue to guarantee service and possible repairs. For example, if we can no longer supply parts, an extension is unfortunately not possible.

Easy4u-portal

You can use this option if you want to order a laptop for the same high school. It means the following:

• The device will be prepared for school.
• The service will continue through school.
• Your order will be sent to your home address as soon as possible.

You can use this option if you want to rent or buy a laptop for continued education. It means the following:

• There is a standard software package on your device.
• The service will continue throught the home address.
• Your order will be sent to your home address as soon as possible.

Don't worry, this is because the account has been deactivated by the school. When you reset your laptop to factory settings, you will immediately regain access to your laptop.

Follow the instructions using the button below to regain access to your Dell laptop. If this doesn't work, first contact the school to ask them about it.

I have a problem

You can easily terminate your subscription through the Easy4u-portal. Log in, go to the homepage, click on ''Cancel Subscription'', and follow the steps. You can submit your termination from 28 days before to 28 days after the end date of your contract.

After you submit your request, you’ll receive an email from us with return instructions for your laptop.

Good to know
If you cancel early, we’ll ask for proof of withdrawal from school or graduation. This helps us process your request correctly. We’d be happy to tell you more about it.

If you submit your termination between 28 days before and 28 days after the end date of your contract and return the laptop to us, you’ll receive your deposit back.

If you submit your termination outside this period, you won’t receive your deposit back. After 28 days after the end date, termination is no longer possible, and the laptop becomes your property.

Important Information about Service Extensions
Did you extend your service last year? If so, you immediately became the owner of the laptop at that time. Therefore, the deposit will not be refunded. You can find this information in the confirmation email you received after extending your service.
